CORE Compatibility & Supported Devices

CORE Compatibility & Supported Devices

  1. Metacentre CORE works directly with Link+ and Drive+ compressor interface modules
  2. CORE's Setup Wizard configures all connected Link+ and Drive+ modules (addresses, parameters, and full setup)
  3. No additional tools are required when commissioning a new Metacentre CORE system with these modules

Using CORE with Other Metacentre Devices:

  1. Metacentre CORE can connect to legacy Metacentre devices (e.g., interface cards, Modbus RTU to Airbus485 gateways, VSD-boxes).
  2. Limitation: CORE's Setup Wizard cannot configure these devices. They must be set up separately by the installer before connection.
The CORE system controller can also connect to other devices that communicate using the Airbus485 protocol (similar to Modbus RTU). This means it can integrate into systems that include non-CORE components, but with some important limitations:
  1. If Link+ or Drive+ modules are present, they can be fully configured through the CORE setup wizard.
  2. If non-CORE devices are present (e.g., legacy Metacentre interface cards, Modbus RTU to Airbus485 gateways, or Metacentre VSD-boxes), the CORE can connect to them, but it cannot configure them.
It is the responsibility of the installing or commissioning engineer to configure the non-CORE modules before connecting them to the system.

CORE with Airbus485-Compatible Devices:

  1. CORE can communicate with third-party or non-CORE devices that support Airbus 485 (similar to Modbus RTU).
  2. Examples include the Airmaster T1, S1, Q1, Q2, FIT, and FORM models. The Airmaster range is a CMC product line, also private-labelled for numerous third-party OEM air compressor manufacturers.  The key consideration is whether the controller supports Airbus485 communication — most Airmaster models do, but this should always be confirmed.
  3. Configuration of these devices must be done via their own tools or OEM procedures. If unsure, check with the air compressor OEM to confirm protocol support and activation.

Example Scenarios:

  1. Replacing a legacy System controller (e.g. Metacentre SX):
    1. CORE configures Link+/Drive+ modules.
    2. Legacy devices require separate pre-configuration!
  2. Connecting compressors with built-in Airbus485:
    1. Configure the compressor’s own controller before connecting to CORE!
  1. Recommended: always configure via CORE
  2. If CORE is unavailable, configuration responsibility lies with the installer
  3. Remote assistance is available through SUPPORT or the webshop

In Summary:

  1. The CORE Setup Wizard configures CORE, Link+, and Drive+
  2. CORE can communicate with, but not configure, non-CORE Airbus485 devices
  3. Non-CORE device setup is the responsibility of the installer/commissioning engineer
