I'm using a Metacentre Airbus485 Compressor Connector to connect my air compressor to the Metacentre system controller. How do I approach this?

  1. Obtain compressor wiring diagrams!
    1. Overview the generic connection diagrams contained in the Technical manual or purchase a custom connection diagram for your air compressor type.
  2. Understand the use of the Metacentre Compressor Connector: C01 terminal connections when connecting to air compressors equipped with remote load / unload digital inputs.
  3. Understand the use of the Metacentre Compressor Connector: C02 terminal connections when connecting to air compressors equipped with 'pressure switch' regulation.
  4. If no physical means of connectivity is apparent, contact your Metacentre equipment provider. If contacting your Metacentre equipment provider, be sure to have the air compressor wiring diagram!
  5. Understand the use of the Metacentre Compressor Connector: C04 'ALARM', 'READY' & 'RUN' signal types and proceed to establish a connection method between the Metacentre Compressor Connector and the air compressor.
    1. The use of 'READY' and 'RUN' signals is essential. The use of the 'ALARM' signal is optional but remember to configure its use using DIP Switch 6.
  6. Use the Metacentre Compressor Connector diagnostic LED's to verify signal integrity.
    1. For example: When the compressor is started, ensure LED4 ‘Ready’ of the i-PCB is illuminated. If LED4 is not illuminated, reconsider the connection between i-PCB pin C04 and the ‘Ready’ voltage source, or signal deprived from the compressor.
  7. Make sure the compressor network address is set correctly. It has to be unique and matching the configuration of the 'main controlling unit'. Set via switches 1-5.
  8. Review the Metacentre Technical Manual.
