Metacentre ERR.04 (Internal 24V Fault The 24VDC power supply, internal to the unit’s controller, is below 19.2V)

ERR. 04 gives the indication that the applied power supply is too low. This can happen because of a faulty power supply or because of some type of short circuit or leakage. Follow the analysis steps below to locate the short circuit, or faulty connection by elemination.
  • Try to resetting the controller's ERR. 04 Short circuit fault by pressing the 'reset' button. If the fault does not clear (even shortly) after pressing the reset button, check the incoming power supply voltage. If the power supply is different than the requested (24V ±15%), ERR. 04 will be triggered.
    • If they are present, make sure that all fuses are intact.
If the above information has not helped to resolve the issue, the short circuit could be created by any of the connected digital- or analog inputs. follow the steps below:
  •  Disconnect the connector for the digital inputs (X04) and the connector for the analog inputs (X05) from the T1 controller.
    • Press the reset button to verify if the short circuit error disappears.
    • If the error disapears, it is proven to be caused by the digital- or analog inputs.
  • Disconnect connector X04 and connect X05
    • Press the reset button to verify if the short circuit error disappears.
    • If ERR. 04 is cleared, it is now verified that it is caused by a faulty connection on the analog inputs
  • Disconnect connector X05 and connect X04
    • Press the reset button to verify if the short circuit error disappears.
    • If ERR. 04 is cleared, it is now verified that it is caused by a faulty connection on the digital inputs.
If the cause of the error is related to the analog inputs, it is possible to measure the voltage on each analog input to do further elimination. You can find an example below:
  • Analog input 1: measure between X05 C-ANA1 and GND.
    • The expected value is 24V DC ±15%. If your measurement differentiates from this vallue, the short circuit is caused by a faulty connection on this analog input.
    • In this example, this corresponds with the 'P1 control pressure' connection. Terminal X06 pin 21 and 22.
  • Always measure between the C-ANA pin and the GND.
If the root cause of the issue has been identified, examine the corresponding connections and remove the short-circuit. Be sure to press the reset button to be able to clear the fault.
