Pre-Fill
The Pre-Fill feature offers a controlled and energy-efficient method for increasing pressure to the normal operating level at system startup. This feature prevents the inefficiency of starting and loading before the pressure reaches the normal operating level.
At system startup (whether manual or automated from standby), the Metacentre Core will only activate compressors designated for Pre-Fill operation, for a preset duration. The Pre-Fill time can be adjusted to match system characteristics. The goal is to raise the pressure to normal operating levels using only the designated compressors, before the Pre-Fill time expires.
If normal operating pressure is reached before the Pre-Fill time ends, the Pre-Fill function will automatically stop, and normal operational control will take over. If the pressure does not reach normal operating levels by the end of the Pre-Fill time, the Metacentre Core will use additional available compressors as needed to quickly achieve the desired pressure. Normal operational control will then begin.
There are three Pre-Fill modes available. 'Backup' and 'Standard' modes both require compressor pre-selection and operate in the same manner, differing only in how they respond to a failure or loss of a Pre-Fill compressor. The Automatic mode, on the other hand, does not require any compressor pre-selection.
Backup Mode
Compressor(s) can be designated as either 'Primary Prefill' or 'Backup Prefill' compressors. If a primary prefill compressor shuts down or is stopped, a pre-defined backup compressor will take its place, allowing the prefill process to continue.
Standard Mode
If one or more of the pre-defined prefill compressors shuts down or is stopped, the prefill function will be cancelled, and normal operation will begin.
Automatic Mode
No Pre-Fill compressor selection is required; any predefined selection is ignored. The management unit automatically selects compressors dynamically to achieve the desired pressure within the set Pre-Fill time. If a compressor is stopped or shuts down, it is automatically replaced by an alternative compressor.
Settings
The mode selection is set using the "Function" setting.
The Time to reach the operational pressure is set using "Time(min)"
The pressure set as target during the Pre-Fill period is set using "Pressure"
