To explain what the Priority functionality provides, first have a look at Duty level and Rotation event.
What is the Duty Level of a Compressor, what is a Rotation event
At any moment in time, every compressor has a unique Duty level, which – supposing we have 4 compressors – are indicated with "A" to "D".
There:
• A is the first compressor (referred to as “Duty” compressor) to be used
• B is the second one (“Standby” compressor) to be used
• C is the third one (“Second Standby” compressor) to be used
• D is the fourth one (“Third Standby” compressor) to be used
As an example: suppose A and B are in use and the air demand is rising to a level where an extra compressor is required to meet the demand, C will be added.
Over time, the allocation of compressors to duty level can change. Refer to such change as a Rotation event.
What are Priorities
These are used to further refine Rotation events.
Each compressor can be assigned a priority, 1 being the highest priority.
Priority level can go from 1 up to the amount of compressors in the system, it can also be set to “Unavailable”.
In that case (Unavailable), the compressor will never be used.
The compressor(s) with a higher priority will always be used before compressor(s) with a lower priority.
As an example, suppose:
• Compressor 1: priority 1
• Compressor 2: priority 1
• Compressor 3: priority 2
• Compressor 4: priority 2
